A seminar carries most of the good of a room, but not the part that happens between meetings, when readers keep pulling at a question. This is the place for that: a circle of members reading one work at a pace they set and never enforce, the threads they keep about it, a directory of the circles their hosts have chosen to list, which any reader with an account may read and a member may look in on and ask to join, and a word between two readers who share a room.
The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty — it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There’s a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God.
